SUMMARY:Women's Bible Study | Dawning of the Divine Story
DESCRIPTION:First Dallas recognizes the importance of Bible study in a woman’s life\, and we know that women need fellowship\, prayer\, and encouragement to live in obedience to God’s Word\, which is why we offer Women’s Bible study! \nThis year\, we will be going through a study written by our First Dallas Women’s Teaching Team called Dawning of the Divine Story: A Study of Genesis\, where we will look at where God’s redemptive work all began. Join us each week on Tuesdays at 10:15am in Wicker Gym\, Wednesdays at 6:30pm in Lovvorn Hall\, or Sundays at 5:30pm in HFC 716 for a powerful lesson from our Teaching Team\, interactive Bible study\, discipleship\, mentoring\, fellowship\, and fun! \nWe want to invite women of all ages from all walks of life: young or old\, married or single\, with or without children\, new to the Christian life or those who have been Christians for many years\, Bible experts and those who are just beginning to explore the Bible. When you come to WBS\, you will find a welcoming atmosphere and will learn that other women have similar joys and struggles to share; we will study a passage together and recognize there is truth to impact our lives. Because our focus is God’s Word\, you can be certain that you will grow in your faith and you will become a woman who knows the Lord in a deeper way—and that will impact all your relationships. Come and gather around the table\, get to know women who live in your area of town\, study alongside a woman with similar interests\, meet a new friend\, and expect to be loved and encouraged! \nBible Study Registration: \nREGISTER HERE\nWatch Bible Study: \nWATCH HERE\n  \nChildcare Registration: \nPLAY & LEARN TUESDAY (BABIES–PRE-K)\nPLAY & LEARN WEDNESDAY (BABIES–PRE-K)\nFIRST AT HOME (K–6TH GRADE)\n  \nAWANA Registration: \nAWANA (AGE 2–6TH GRADE)\n  \nMore About Dawning of the Divine Story \nFrom eternity past\, the omnipotent\, triune Creator God had a wonderful story written through time and space. A perfect Author\, He began this divine story with a breath\, speaking all of heaven\, earth\, and space into existence. Light pierced a dark nothingness\, and a garden bloomed from the chaotic deep. It was good. Out of an overflow of love\, God formed man and woman as caretakers and image-bearers and walked in perfect communion with them. But it wasn’t long before one antagonist and one act of disobedience corrupted God’s good creation\, triggering a downward spiral toward death and destruction. \nThis did not surprise the Creator. In His infinite sovereignty and omniscience\, He had a master metanarrative in mind—one that begins in a garden and ends in a garden\, weaving through the faith of fallen men and women\, climaxing at Calvary\, and is still being written today. No\, this familiar story of creation and separation was not a surprise. It was merely the first glimpse into the dawning of the divine story. \nIn this study of Genesis\, follow the “Dawning of the Divine Story” as we walk through creation\, covenants\, and all the stories of God’s grace in between\, watching the gospel bloom through God and His chosen people.

SUMMARY:Shelter from the Storm
DESCRIPTION:Shelter from the Storm is a 13-week Christ-centered support/recovery group for women\, designed to heal the emotional wounds related to sexual abuse. Many individuals have survived the trauma of sexual abuse. Most often the abuse occurred at the hands of someone in a trusted position. Sadly\, the devastating effects will continue throughout every stage of the survivor’s life until it is appropriately addressed and dealt with. \nThe survivor’s perception of themselves\, others\, God\, and life\, in general\, is severely distorted. However\, God desires to heal the emotional wounds related to the abuse so you may experience life with meaning and purpose as He intended. Healing\, freedom\, and truth is available through His Son\, Jesus Christ. \nDon’t suffer in silence any longer. Help and resources are available. This group offers survivors of sexual abuse a safe place to experience hope and healing\, deliverance and wholeness (spirit\, soul & body). It will empower participants to realize that they are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ rather than victims of their past. \nCourse Objectives Survivors of sexual abuse will come to realize there is hope and healing from the past as they examine the: \n• false beliefs about the abuse \n• overwhelming effects of abuse on their life \n• process of grieving the pain of sexual abuse and of learning to let go of the past \n• process of reclaiming trust\, control\, and intimacy \n• road to recovery through the Word of God \n• healing path with God’s help\, from victim to survivor to an overcomer through Jesus Christ. \n  \nThe Fall 2024 semester of Shelter From The Storm will meet as a VIRTUAL GROUP on Wednesdays from 6:30–8pm\, starting Wednesday\, September 11–December 11. No registration fee. \nParticipants will purchase their workbooks from Amazon before the first night of the VIRTUAL GROUP. \nREGISTER HERE\n  \nFor more information contact: Pathways Christian Counseling 214.969.2456 or counseling@firstdallas.org

SUMMARY:Pathways | GriefShare
DESCRIPTION:A GriefShare support group is a safe\, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group\, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat\, orderly stages of grief\, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief\, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way. \nEach weekly GriefShare group begins with a 30-minute video featuring respected experts on grief-related topics and helpful stories from people who have experienced loss. Their insights will help you manage your emotions\, gain clarity\, and find answers to your questions as you walk through the grief process. \nAfter the video\, you and the other group members will spend time discussing what was presented in the video and what is going on in your lives. Talking with other people who understand what you’re experiencing brings great comfort\, normalizes the grief experience\, and offers a supportive environment to work through your grief. \nWhile everyone’s response to loss is unique\, people facing loss and grief will experience many of the same challenges. The weekly GriefShare topics address these common struggles—providing valuable tips\, encouragement\, and direction leading you to relief\, comfort\, and peace of mind. \nThe Fall 2024 semester of GriefShare will meet Wednesdays from 6:30–8pm\, starting Wednesday\, September 11–December 11\, in Horner Family Center\, Level 7\, Room 704. \nCost: $20 registration fee. Participants will receive their participant guide on the first night of attendance to the group. \nREGISTER HERE\nFor more information contact Pathways Christian Counseling | 214.969.2456 | counseling@firstdallas.org
