Mission 1:8 WIN NOW,

Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

By First Dallas Staff

Since its inception, First Baptist Dallas has remained steadfast in its mission to transform our world…one life at a time. Just 150 feet away from our church stands the Woman to Woman Health Center which shares an all too similar motto,  Touching hearts. Transforming lives. What first began in 1994 by a small group of church members as a women’s outreach ministry called the Downtown Pregnancy Center, the organization has become a nonprofit entity through Involved for Life, Inc., now serving as Woman to Woman Health Center.

The organization and ministry believes in treating the whole woman through medical and non-medical services,” says CEO Carolyn Cline. Through their holistic approach, their organization has educated and empowered women to make informed decisions amid cultural standards. Cline says she initially felt God’s strong call to serve in pro-life ministry when she was the mother of a newborn. She became passionate about helping women’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs. Because until we can talk to the baby,” Cline says, “we must make sure the mother has an encounter with Christ.”

Scripture tells us to “always [be] ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence” (1 Peter 3:15). Because of Involved for Life’s faithfulness to relay the hope of Jesus Christ to any woman in need, they have made a remarkable impact. Over 84 women have made decisions for Christ and over 250 women have chosen life for their babies in a single year.

One of the Woman to Woman s Health Center clients said, I was single. I was pregnant. And I didn’t know what to do. People around me were telling me to abort. But, the Woman to Woman Health Center welcomed me, educated me, and encouraged me through my pregnancy. After I was married and found out I was pregnant again, my husband said, I don’t know where we can go, and I said, I do!’”

Before some women have had an opportunity to turn for help during unplanned pregnancies, a decision to terminate a pregnancy has already been made. Shockingly, one in four women in the U.S. have already experienced an abortion. If you are a woman who has buried this secret, there is healing and hope in Jesus Christ. The all-female staff at Women to Women Health Center wants you to know that they are waiting to serve and uplift you through post-abortion recovery. Any woman who enters through the doors of the private oasis will be welcomed by a friendly face like Vicki King, Vice President and Director of Development. She says, God led me to the Involved for Life in 2005 to heal me so that I might encourage others to find healing too. First Baptist Dallas proudly supports Involved for Life Inc. serving as Women to Women Health Center. Locally, through awareness and volunteer initiatives like Serve Dallas, we have sent countless volunteers three times a year beginning in 2014 to help our neighbors and sisters in Christ. Nationally, our church is also working to make an impact and has prayed and spoken to transform laws. Our Senior Pastor Dr. Robert Jeffress told the congregation, “Because evangelical Christians joined with conservative Catholics and elected a President in 2016 who appointed three conservative pro life justices to the Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022.” As the church celebrates living in a “Post-Roe” world, a call for the church to help women and believers through physical, mental, and spiritual transformation is critical.

As the organization continues to expand its ministry, the need for both medical and non-medical volunteers to mentor and support young women who are pregnant is more important than ever. There is always an opportunity to give financially to Involved for Life to support educational curriculum, medical equipment, and additional resources. The nonprofit also asks you for your prayers. If you would be willing to join their prayer warrior team, don’t hesitate to contact jillian@w2w.health to receive a request list. “For You formed my inward parts; you wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it very well” (Psalm 139:13–14).
