Senior Spotlight 2026

By First Dallas Staff

To the AMAZING CLASS OF 2026,

By every measure, you are a very special class to our church.  Many of you were practically born and raised in our church, while others of you have joined us along the way and have made our church family complete. Our hearts overflow with joy as we take a moment to pause and recognize you for who you are and what you mean to us.

What has made you such a special class is your collective willingness to serve the Lord Jesus by serving our church.  You are outstanding examples of true Christian servant leadership.  You have used your time and talents to make in impact here at 1707 San Jacinto, and now as some of you go, you will build the church here and in new places.

From Sunday morning bible studies to Wednesday night activities, Beach Camps to Mission trips, the moments we have made are truly a gift.  May these moments be treasured memories for years to come. Not only have you grown physically, we have also seen you grow in faith, character, and conviction. What the Lord has started in you, He will be faithful to complete.  This is just the beginning.

Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Keep seeking Him first.  Wherever you go, in whatever you do, seek Jesus first, and the rest will all make sense. Whether you’re in a dorm, workplace, classroom, lab, or study hall, let His wisdom guide your every decision.

Remember that once you are a part of First Dallas, you will always be a part of our church family.  The church is not a building nor a program.  The church is YOU.  The church is US.  YOU ARE US.  This means our love and dedication does not end now.  The relationships you have formed will continue, and every staff member, volunteer, church member and friend is but a phone call or message away.

Now it is time to celebrate the end of a season and anticipate the beginning of a new one.  Never forget the timeless biblical principles you have been taught by your parents, Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, and our Pastor.  Now it’s your turn to live out what has been poured into you.  Remember that Jesus is with you, and we are too.

We love you.

Ella Catherine Brown

  • High School: Homeschooled
  • Future Plans: I am going to be a published author in the summer!
  • Favorite Bible Verse: Ephesians 2:8-10—“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
  • Most Memorable Moment: Probably, at the Avenue when I was struggling with stuff in my life and started crying. My friend group surrounded me, held me, and spoke life over me.
  • Advice for FD Students: You don’t have to explain or justify your actions to people. As long as you and God know that is all that matters. Those are the only opinions that matter. You don’t have to have everything figured out today. When things become overwhelming, step away, do something with your hands, and then try again. Don’t think it all has to be known today, and if you fall down? Get. Back. Up. There is a Japanese saying, “Fall seven times. Get back up eight.” Don’t stay down. Remember who your Father is and keep going!
  • Spiritual Growth: It has been incredible! The presence of the Lord is palpable in the area. The love of the Lord flows from staff members and fellow students.

And I will go to its highest peak, its thickest forest. ‘I dug wells and drank waters, And with the sole of my feet I dried up All the rivers of Egypt.’ “Have you not heard? Long ago, I did it, from ancient times I planned it. Now I have brought it to pass that you should turn fortified cities into ruinous heaps.”
  • Most Memorable Moment: At Beach Camp, looking out over the sea and admiring the care and beauty God adorned His creation with.
  • Advice for FD Students: Check your heart before doing anything.

  • Most Memorable Moment: It’s hard to pick one thing, I have so many good memories. I’m so thankful for the friendships I made and the things I learned about God. I loved every moment and getting closer to Jesus with my friends.
  • Advice for FD Students: Seek God for love, acceptance, help, comfort, need, desires, and anything and everything else. Stop trying to distract yourself or numb yourself, take it to Him. He is your savior. He is everything you ever wanted and didn’t know you needed.
  • Spiritual Growth: I changed a lot I think, like wanting to be with Jesus more and more, praying more, beginning to read the Bible everyday, and understanding a little more how much love God has for me, and help loving my family and others, and coming to God with my questions.

I have realized how important it is to surround myself with like-minded people and those with the same values as me. With this, I became more open in my worship and started to see what God was trying to tell me every day.
