The Five Habits of a Healthy Christian are the foundational spiritual disciplines that lead to a thriving life in Christ. In this series, our Executive Pastor Ben Lovvorn will take you through these essential habits, explaining their biblical basis and giving practical guidance about how to make them a consistent part of your life. The five spiritual habits include gathering for worship weekly, praying and reading Scripture daily, giving, and sharing your faith.

The First Dallas iCampus is committed to your spiritual growth. First Baptist Dallas annually does a program called Spring Training, which is a focused effort to encourage the entire church to practice the Five Habits of a Healthy Christian together. This video series is meant to take you on a deeper dive into these habits, showing how God intends for each one to shape us further into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

In this series overview, Executive Pastor Ben Lovvorn introduces you to the Five Habits of a Healthy Christian. The Five Habits aren’t intended to be groundbreaking or new; they’re the time-tested, biblical ways to grow closer to the Lord. We also discuss why God wants us to grow spiritually and whether spiritual disciplines lead to hypocrisy.

Habit 1 | Weekly Worship

The first spiritual habit of a healthy Christian is weekly worship in the local church. Ben Lovvorn explains the biblical content and goals of the weekly worship gathering. Gathering as the church has its challenges, but community with other believers as we worship the Lord together is well worth it!

Habit 2 | Daily Prayer

The second habit of a healthy Christian is daily prayer. Ben Lovvorn walks through examples of prayer in Scripture and explains both how and why the Bible says we should pray. The lesson offers some simple ways to keep our prayers focused and fruitful, so we can grow closer to God.
