Come join the First Dallas Single Adult Ministry for our annual Singles Retreat, The Getaway, at Allaso Ranch in Hawkins, TX, happening August 28–30! It’s going to be a weekend packed with incredible worship, amazing teaching, fun games, and countless opportunities to build lasting friendships and unforgettable memories. Enjoy a weekend surrounded by nature with activities like the aquatic center and lake obstacle course and so much more!

Registration is required. Please plan to arrive at Allaso Ranch by 5:00 PM on Friday, August 28. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM, and the retreat officially begins that evening.

What time do I need to arrive on Friday?

Please plan to arrive at Allaso Ranch by 5:00 PM on Friday, August 28. Check-in closes promptly at 6:30 PM, when dinner will also be served as we kick off the retreat together. Arriving by 5:00 PM will give you plenty of time to check in, settle into your cabin, and get ready for dinner. Late arrivals may miss check-in, dinner, and the start of the evening’s activities we have planned!

Who is The Getaway Retreat for?

The Getaway is designed for single adults. Whether you’re a college student, young professional, or retiree, you’ll find a welcoming community and meaningful connections throughout the weekend. Singles of all ages—from 18 to 80+—join us every year!

How much does it cost?

Retreat Registration: $225

Price Increase: Registration increases to $250 beginning August 24. Register early to secure the discounted rate.

Why is medical insurance information required during registration?

Due to church policy and retreat waiver requirements, we collect insurance information during registration to simplify any medical needs that may arise during the retreat. All attendees are required to have medical insurance to participate in overnight First Dallas events. If you do not currently have insurance coverage, please contact the Single Adult Ministry Office at singleadults@firstdallas.org before registering.

What can I expect after I register?

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email at the address provided during registration. The week before The Getaway, we will send additional details about the retreat, including what to bring, schedules, and other important information. If you have questions before then, please contact Emily Boone at eboone@firstdallas.org.

What if I don’t know anyone attending?

You’re not alone! Many attendees come without knowing anyone else. The Getaway is intentionally designed to help people connect, build friendships, and experience community. Throughout the weekend, you’ll participate in group activities, worship, meals, and fellowship opportunities that make it easy to meet new people.

Can I choose my roommates?

Room assignments are made by our leadership team to ensure accommodations are organized and balanced. Cabins are assigned by gender (men with men, women with women). If you’re bringing a first-time guest, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. While we cannot guarantee roommate preferences, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to spend time with your friends throughout the retreat.

Can I invite friends who do not attend First Dallas?

Absolutely! You do not need to be a member of First Dallas to attend The Getaway. We encourage you to invite friends and help spread the word!

How do I get there?

Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to and from Allaso Ranch. Many participants choose to carpool with friends, but you are welcome to drive separately. If you have transportation-related questions, please contact Emily Boone at eboone@firstdallas.org.

What is the refund policy?

We understand that plans can change. To request a refund, please email singleadults@firstdallas.org no later than Sunday, August 23. Because retreat expenses and commitments are finalized after that date, refund requests received after August 23 are not eligible for a refund. Once approved, refunds may take up to two weeks to process, depending on your original method of payment.
