The discipleship goal of Mission 1:8 One Desire is that each of our church members at First Baptist Dallas would make Jesus Christ the one desire of their lives. This is drawn from 2 Corinthians 5:9, where Paul says: “Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.”
Such a huge, lifelong goal may feel overwhelming! So we have encouraged everyone to make progress by simply identifying one significant step they can take, starting right now.

This brief discipleship guide walks you through several biblical passages that will help you take stock of your life and your relationship with the Lord. This is meant to be a process of wrestling with God’s Word and applying it. The guide ends by asking: “As a member of First Baptist Dallas, what is a significant next step you can take over the next two years to make Jesus Christ your one desire, grow in your personal relationship with Him, and help build His church?”
