The Guardians Quartet
Dean Hickman, John Darin Rowsey, Pat Barker, and Scott Mullins, collectively known as the Guardians Quartet, are a southern gospel quartet with a unique sound, tight harmony, and a passion for sharing the gospel through their music.
First tenor, Dean Hickman, has a long history in Southern Gospel music, beginning as a 19-year-old with The Golden Keys Quartet and joining the Guardians in 1988. John Darin Rowsey joined the quartet in 2012 and writes and arranges most of the Guardians’ songs. Pat Barker, the man with the legendary bass voice, a southern gospel icon in his own right, began singing with the Guardians in March 2018. The newest member of the Guardians, with over 30 years of experience in gospel music, is Scott Mullins.
With three Dove Award nominations, multiple #1 songs, and Fan Awards, the Lord has blessed the Guardians Quartet with an incredible journey since its inception. Each member of the Group brings a sincere commitment to glorifying Jesus Christ. Therefore, their mantra remains echoing John the Baptist’s words in John 3:30: “He must increase but I must decrease.”
